United States presidential election in Alaska, 1964
(詳細は1964 United States presidential election. Voters chose three representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for President and Vice President.
Alaska was won by incumbent President Lyndon B. Johnson (D-Texas) with 65.9% of the popular vote against U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater (R-Arizona) with 34.1%.〔(Statistics of the Presidential and Congressional Election of November 3, 1964 )〕 Johnson won the national vote as well, defeating Goldwater and serving another term after finishing John F. Kennedy's term. This is the only presidential election that Alaska has ever voted for a Democratic candidate, likely due to Johnson's landslide victory throughout the rest of the country (except for the Deep South and Goldwater's home state).〔
